He possesses extensive civil law practice in original and appellate courts, specializing in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Banking and Finance Law, Shipping and Admiralty Law, Telecommunication, and Tax Law. Shivaan’s expertise extends to International Commercial Arbitration, where he represents clients globally and advises on infrastructure and construction projects.

Shivaan is in the process of becoming a Level 1 Mediator accredited by the Singapore International Mediation Institute. He was a member of the Special Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, contributing to matters concerning winding up Rules and their implementation. Currently, he serves as a Lecturer for the Diploma Course in Arbitration at the ‘Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice’.
