Research that Inspires Matters Illuminates
The Research Wing of the Bandaranaike Academy for Leadership and Public Policy is dedicated to conducting policy-based research that will not only inspire, but also inform and transform the fields of leadership and public policy.
We are adopting a comprehensive research approach exploring topics ranging from leadership & governance, political thought and strategy to sustainable energy policy, cyber security, health policy, education policy and economic policy. By addressing these diverse fields, we strive to suggest holistic and practical solutions to the complex issues facing our society today.
A key component of our research strategy is the utilization and popularization of new forms of research methodology. We embrace cutting-edge techniques and tools, including data analytics, digital ethnography, participatory action research, visual research and other innovative approaches. This commitment to methodological innovation ensures that our research remains at the forefront of academic and practical advancements.
Our research initiatives are designed to be inclusive and collaborative. We will partner with academic institutions, the government, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. These collaborations enable us to draw on a wide range of expertise and resources, enhancing the depth and impact of our work.
The Research Wing also places a strong emphasis on dissemination and engagement. We believe that research should not remain confined to academic circles but should be shared widely to inform public discourse and policy-making. To this end the BALPP Research Wing, with BALPP Outreach will organize seminars, workshops, and public lectures, and we will publish our findings in accessible formats. We will also leverage digital platforms and social media to reach a broader audience and foster a vibrant community of engaged citizens.
Our mission is to produce work that is accessible and attractive to a wide audience, with a special emphasis on engaging the youth. By involving young people directly in our research activities, we aim to harness their fresh perspectives, creativity, and unique insights, ensuring that our studies are both innovative and relevant to contemporary challenges.
"Research must continue to be the centerpiece of intellectual life, and our commitment to research must grow, because our problems are growing."
