In the second BALPP Interactive Public Discussion, Prof. Savitri Goonesekara had a 2 hour interactive discussion with students of the BALPP on November 12. This was a profound, inspiring and informative session. Prof SG brought in decades of her experience as an academic and her expertise as a jurist as well as a public policy advocate.

She was the first female Professor of Law to be appointed at the Open University of Sri Lanka in 1983. She worked as the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo from 1999 until 2002. She’s also a member of the Expert Resource Panel of the BALPP.

The event was held at the BALPP premises at the BMICH.
