Policy Dialogue Series IV – Dialogue on Regulating Online Safety

The fourth Policy Dialogue of the Bandaranaike Academy for Public Policy was held on the 08th of February 2024 at hall 3G-17 at the BMICH. This was a student-led dialogue as the students of the Cybersecurity Postgraduate Diploma Program of the BALPP and their course director, Mr. Asela Waidyalankara alongside the panelists, Prof. Savitri Goonesekere and Dr. Sanjana Hattotuwa took the lead in taking a constructively critical look at the Online Safety Act (OSA) passed by the Parliament in January 2024.
This dialogue, moderated by Prof. Arjuna Parakrama, brought together participants from a diverse range of backgrounds, including lawmakers, activities, academics, business professionals, and students. Nearly a 100 people participated in this policy dialogue.
